35+ years as local Vets in Warkworth
We’re a small, close-knit team, invested in our veterinary clinic – and in your pets and animals.
Based in Warkworth, we have clients who come to the clinic from surrounding areas – from Puhoi to Kaipara Flats and Matakana, Omaha, Snells Beach, Leigh, and up to Wellsford.
We also travel to farms and lifestyle blocks from the East Coast to the West Coast.
We hope you’ll get to know us over the course of your visits.
Meet the Vet Farm & Pet Clinic team
Tania Govan & squeak
Tania graduated from Massey in 2010. She spent time at Vet Farm & Pet Clinic as a Veterinary student. It was here she met a lost little blue penguin that walked up Hill St and ended up in the clinic! Tania gained much experience in both Geraldine and Auckland before settling down with her family in Matakana and joining the team here at Vet Farm & Pet permanently. She has a special interest in small animal medicine and surgery.
In her spare time she enjoys swimming, cycling, running and drinking coffee.
ROSS Lynch & ALFIE
The foundations of the clinic’s strong reputation come down to the hard work of Ross over many years serving the Warkworth community and the positive word of mouth this generates. After years of sailing his way around various parts of the world, and meeting his wife, they decided Warkworth was the nicest area they’d seen in their travels and decided to settle here. Ross qualified from Massey in 1974 and has mentored other vets in the clinic in how to deal with the trickiest of patients.
The owner of the Vet, Farm & Pet clinic from 1985, until just recently, he believes he was led to becoming a vet from early in his life. If he’s not at the clinic, you might see Ross out riding an Indian motorbike, or playing in the Warkworth Big Band.
Andy RISSMAN, DROGO THE BEARDED DRAGON & HOLLY
Almost 30 years ago, while working on his family’s farm in Matakana, Andrew (Andy) first spent time in clinic with Ross at Vet Farm & Pet Clinic. Andrew finished Massey Vet School in 1993. He has worked in mixed practice, emergency small animal hospitals and with wildlife in different parts of NZ, the UK, Australia and Africa. In 2002 he graduated from the University of Sydney with a Master’s degree in Wildlife Medicine and Surgery, and joined the Vet Farm & Pet team in 2015. Andrew enjoys all veterinary medicine with a special interest in anaesthesia, emergency medicine, surgery and avian/ reptilian/ exotic medicine.
He plans to trudge all the Great Walks of NZ with his sons, Luka and Leo- so far they’ve done five.
Vicki Webster & CHICKITA
Vicki has worked within the Veterinary Industry for over 14 years, her roles are many and varied, including reception and stock control as well as assisting with other aspects of the clinic.
She lives in Sandspit with her fiancé Colin and their furry feline ‘Mama Puss’. Vicki enjoys time with family, walking her neighbours German Shepherd, baking, fair-weather fishing and occasionally competing in walking Half Marathons. Her mantra, “Be kind and brighten someone’s day with a smile.”
Lynda Stanley & FREYA
Lynda has a wealth of experience to share with clients and colleagues. She qualified as a Veterinary Nurse from the Royal Veterinary College, London in 1997. Lynda has worked in a wide variety of practices including a wildlife hospital (St.Tiggywinkles), the International Zoo Vet Group, over a decade as Nursing Supervisor at Battersea Dogs and Cats Home and recently at an emergency veterinary clinic in Auckland. She enjoys anaesthesia and emergency medicine. Lynda has a passion for rescue animals and behaviour and advocates stress free, calm handling of pets.
Lynda joined the Vet, Farm & Pet team in 2015 as a Vet Nurse. At home, she and her husband are busy with their 2 daughters and menagerie of pets.
Sophie Hatfull & POSSUM
We were lucky to have Sophie join Vet Farm and Pet Clinic in 2016 after completing a Certificate in Vet Nursing from Vet Nurse Plus.
When she’s not caring for animals at the clinic, she’s doing so in her spare time – whether it be enjoying spending time with her own dog, or helping out on her partner’s family farm. She does manage to fit in some social hockey too.
Alfie is the clinic ginger cat. After a short stay at Julie’s Animal Refuge, she found a new home at the clinic over 11 years ago.
Alfie is the official merchandise tester, specialising in pet beds. Other duties include…. walking over computer keyboards, and checking the temperature in the hot water cupboard.
From your small everyday jobs, to the one large horse accident we had, these guys are knowledgeable and skilled at what they do. We had a horse put his leg through a float, and honestly thought that with the extensive damage, there would be no other option but to put him down. Not only did Ross save the leg, but the end result was so good that you are hard pressed to see the injury was there at all.
When the sad time has come to put our elderly animals down, they have done so with empathy and dignity, and have come out to euthanise at our property so as to not stress our pets. I would recommend these guys to anyone and look forward to continuing to use them in the future.
I have been a client of the Vet Farm & Pet clinic based in Warkworth for 20 years. Ross Lynch and staff have always been knowledgeable and caring and always there for you and your pets. Andrew and Tania are of exactly the same quality. Knowledgeable and caring and go over and above their duties as do their staff. A great Vet Clinic to deal with.
